About Anneli Schmidt

Welcome! I'm so glad you've found your way to my site.

Over a decade ago, I discovered that my aunt, still in her early fifties, had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. As a family, we feared this was a narrative that others, including myself, might also have to confront. If you find yourself sharing these fears, I want to reassure you: it doesn't have to be your story. There are tangible ways to improve health as a midlife woman, and I'm here to guide you through them.

My Journey

Three Finnish sisters made the journey to Canada, my mother being the eldest of them. Unfortunately, all three experienced the devastating impact of Alzheimer's Disease and passed away far too soon, within a year and a day of each other. With a strong family history of Alzheimer's, I feared I might face the same fate.

As I delved deeper into the research, fueled by my Critical Care Registered Nurse background, I found hope instead of fear. The more I learned, the more I realized that living in fear of Alzheimer's was unnecessary. It was an epiphany that lifestyle directly impacts our health and could help prevent chronic health conditions.

Prevention: A New Path

In a primarily reactive medical care world, preventative health becomes an underrated powerhouse. And as a woman navigating health in midlife, I knew I needed to focus on this. So, in 2022, I became a Licensed Food for Life Instructor through the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM).

Driven by a desire to educate and empower others, particularly women in their 50s wondering how to get healthier, I've used my years of experience as a Critical Care Nurse and my education through PCRM to provide a roadmap towards a healthier, vibrant life.

Suppose you're looking for a comprehensive guide on improving health as a midlife woman or seeking valuable resources on Alzheimer's prevention, natural methods to prevent diabetes, dietary guidance for heart disease prevention, or practical strategies for healthy weight loss.
